Black Magic

Remember all of the things on my to-do list from this past weekend?  Well, there was a slight change in plans.

Meet Luna.

We rescued her from the Lange Foundation on Saturday…

…and I couldn’t be happier.

Busy Bee

June 12th, 2009

I was so disappointed when I found out that it’s supposed to drizzle for the majority of the weekend.  After the initial shock set in though, I realized it would give me some much needed time to tackle a few of the things I’ve been meaning to do.

Visit the Farmers’ market to fill my sad, empty vases with some colorful flowers (I made this one in college).

Come up with a better way to organize my jewelry (note: this photo shows about 1/15th of what I actually own.  The rest is in one giant knot in my bathroom drawer).

Finish one of the six books I’m currently reading (don’t judge that New Moon is currently at the top of my list).

Find a way to organize my shoes so that I can accommodate some of the few I’ve been eying recently (is it normal to have two other sections dedicated to boots and flats?).

Make some chili and cornbread for a big Sunday meal.

I hope you have wonderfully productive weekends as well!

Vintage Capelet, Lisa Kathryn Headband, Forever 21 Watch, BDG Jeans, Cynthia Vincent Wedges

L.A. is pretty devoid of cherry blossoms in the spring, but what we lack in pretty pink flowers, we make up for with purple.   Since the trees only bloom for a short amount of time, my boyfriend and I took several walks this week along the petal-covered sidewalks.  The suddenly chilly onset of weather has been perfect since I just bought this blazer-turned-capelet and was doubting my ability to wait until fall to pull it out of my closet.  Also, thank you to Lisa who sent over this beautiful headband from her shop that’s stocked full of “Blair Waldorf-esque” pieces.

Crave or Save

June 10th, 2009

blazers.jpg

Spring weather can be tricky.   We’ve all been there.  You show up to a beach barbecue with not a cloud in the sky only to find that moments later, you’re covered in goosebumps and your skin has turned a lovely shade of purplish blue.  To avoid situations like these, blazers are my go-to choice for looking polished and warm.  The  little rolled up sleeves on the ABS version are right up my alley, but for nearly $300, it’s just a bit of a stretch.  Necessary Objects‘s version (which has been seen on Lauren Conrad) is nearly identical with just right amount of I-stole-this-from-my-boyfriend-charm but with the tailoring fit for a girl.

What’s your take – crave or save?
