Here’s to you, Mrs. Robinson…

I finally got around to buying some cheerful flowers, right before I leave on a business trip to Baltimore (at least I’ll get to bust out my new Alexander McQueen carry-on that’s easily the creepiest luggage I’ve ever seen).  In the meantime, I can’t wait to use our new blanket, during a screening of The Graduate, at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery this Saturday night.  If anyone has ideas for what we should bring for a picnic, I’d love to hear your favorite snacks.

Beacon

I was reluctant to join Twitter at first, since I couldn’t imagine the benefits of divulging my every move (nor anyone’s interest in such information).  Turns out, it’s been amazingly helpful with everything from getting people’s opinions on clothing, the best nude nail polish and where to go to dinner in Culver City.  Beacon came highly recommended and their vegetable springrolls, ginger glazed chicken wings and spicy tuna roll didn’t disappoint.

Disney Dreams

It’s not that I’ve been oblivious to the rave reviews pouring in for the movie Up, but I’m slightly biased when it comes to Pixar.  You see, I was raised on classics like Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid and Snow White, so I’m reluctant to embrace any cartoon that doesn’t revolve around princesses and happily ever afters.  This is why, when I saw Dina Goldstein’s “Fallen Princesses” project, I was profoundly moved (and a little scarred).  Perhaps I’ll buy tickets for Pixar’s 3-D showing tonight…

P.S. I only wish Ariel had been included.  Perhaps she could have been swimming around in oil-drenched water?

End of the Road

H&M Shirt dress, Urban Outfitters Tights, Forever 21 Ring, Derek Lam Mary Janes, Gryson Bag

This is probably the first time I’ve ever worn tights in June, but they’re perfect for those moderate days that never quite get warm enough.  Plus, I’ve found that looking somewhat presentable (or simply not in mismatched sweats) while walking the aisles of Trader Joe’s drastically improves my chances for resisting their white chocolate chip cookies.

Black Magic

Remember all of the things on my to-do list from this past weekend?  Well, there was a slight change in plans.

Meet Luna.

We rescued her from the Lange Foundation on Saturday…

Busy Bee

I was so disappointed when I found out that it’s supposed to drizzle for the majority of the weekend.  After the initial shock set in though, I realized it would give me some much needed time to tackle a few of the things I’ve been meaning to do.

Visit the Farmers’ market to fill my sad, empty vases with some colorful flowers (I made this one in college).

Come up with a better way to organize my jewelry (note: this photo shows about 1/15th of what I actually own.  The rest is in one giant knot in my bathroom drawer).

tw-3.jpg

Finish one of the six books I’m currently reading (don’t judge that New Moon is currently at the top of my list).

tw-5.jpg

Find a way to organize my shoes so that I can accommodate some of the few I’ve been eying recently (is it normal to have two other sections dedicated to boots and flats?).

Make some chili and cornbread for a big Sunday meal.

I hope you have wonderfully productive weekends as well!
