The Times They Are A-Changin’

February 6th, 2009

heart-in-snow.jpg

After 10% of my company was let go this week, I’ve been just a bit stressed to say the least.  Here are some of the things that are getting me through these tough times (and putting a smile on my face).

-In college, there was a girl who would leave horrendously angry comments on the fridge addressed to those who ate her food.  She totally should have bought these (via Layers of Meaning).

-If you’ve ever been through a break-up, the lyrics to this song will make you melt.

-Who needs chocolates and flowers when you can have these?

-After spending an inexcusable amount of time here, I’ve officially sworn off buying  popcorn at the movies and drinking Jack in the Box’s Oreo shakes on a regular basis.

-Isn’t this just about the sleekest menswear watch you’ve seen?

-This makes me think that perhaps less isn’t always more.

-I’m embarrassed that this made me laugh out loud.

I hope you all have lovely weekends!

Le Stripe

Ever since I read about how to dress like a French woman on Joanna’s blog, I’ve been accumulating striped shirts like it’s nobody’s business.  The nautical vibe of stripes transports me to a warmer frame of mind instantaneously, which is perfect since it’s supposed to rain for the next four days straight.  I’m already envisioning lots of movies, board games and take-out this weekend.

Pretty in Pink

February 4th, 2009

I’ve always loved pink (even when I was a young tomboy, often mistaken as a member of the opposite sex). For that reason alone, Valentine’s Day holds a special place in my heart.  Well, that and the bucket loads of candy I typically consume in February.  But in colors like ‘Milkshake Pink’ and ‘Party Pink,’ how can you not find a shade that’s perfect for you?

How sweet are these photographs by Rodney Smith?  With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I couldn’t help but swoon over these darling images of vintage clothes, cute cars and unbelievably romantic boys.
