LACMA Lights
Zara Dress, Homemade Necklace, Korcula Ring, Michael Kors Wedges
A year after Chris Burden’s Urban Light installation went up at the LACMA, I finally got a chance to swing around on the 202 vintage lamp posts this Sunday. Though the weather was overcast, I decided to lighten things up by throwing on my new tangerine colored dress, which I bought specifically for my upcoming trip to Hawaii. Patience has never been my strong suit.

Layer Cake
H&M Top, Forever 21 Sweater and Belt, Vintage Cuff, Urban Outfitters Skirt, Gryson Bag, Vintage Boots
Since the weather is almost always warm in Los Angeles, I have minimal experience when it comes to layering. With this sweater in particular though, I wanted to overlap the two sides to create a more slimming silhouette, a trick I inherited after seeing Sarah Jessica Parker do the same here. Sadly, this only worked until lunch, after which I was too full to keep my belt wrapped around both my top and sweater comfortably. Note to self: when layering, go up a size to accommodate extra layers so that my belt doesn’t pop off unexpectedly.

Spotlighting the Standouts
With the Academy Awards just days away, I figured it would appropriate to post some of my favorite Paolo Pellegrin photographs from The New York Times Magazine. Revealed is a raw quality that’s unlike any photo shoot and a far cry from just another paparazzi encounter. Instead, he captures ordinary moments that offer a glimpse into the lives of a few acclaimed actors. Here are the shots that moved me most.
I could definitely get used to watching Brad Pitt shave (Do I sound like Mel from Flight of the Conchords?).
If only I could look this glamorous while curling my hair.
I love the details in this shot (including the rain drops on the window).
I think I may need to recreate Penelope Cruz’s entire look here with her winged eyeliner and wind blown hair.
I find Sean Penn’s pensive expression to be ruggedly sexy.
Is it just me or are these stars even more enticing when they’re candidly photographed far from the red carpet?
