Hawt Dog
If, and when, you’re in Los Angeles, Marty D’s should not be missed. Here are some reasons why:
-Old-school soda fountain
-Incredibly nice staff (Marty himself invited us in!)
-Great selection of condiments (including spicy and sweet mustards, homemade dill relish and onion compote)
-8-inch beef kosher dogs served in a warm, poppy-seed buns
-Candy apple-colored bar
-Premium ice cream and homemade hot fudge (ignore the part on the menu that says to order it if you’re not too hungry though…it’s big).
-Perfectly crisp regular and sweet potato fries
We left the diner excruciatingly full, but we’re already planning a trip back sometime very soon.

Home Of My Own
I recently visited the new home of some friends and it inspired me to think about the things that I would include once I purchase my own place. After I moved in with my boyfriend, I had to taper my ultra-feminine taste a bit, but (I hope) the spaciousness of a house will allow for more leniency on his part. Below are just some of the ideas that I’ll keep locked away we move:
A red lamp adds a splash of color to a neutral office.
A french envelope tray on a bedside table is a perfect place to store jewelry.
A canopy bed made of minimalist metal keeps it from looking too princess-y.
I’d place a mirror atop this antique-inspired desk for an organized place to apply make-up.
Regardless of whether this chair looks like the one Aiden made for Carrie *sigh,* it has all the right proportions for curling up with a cup of hot chocolate and a knit throw.

Behind Bars
Ever since last Summer’s infatuation with gladiator sandals, feet have remained caged up in strappy shoes, this time with even more complex construction. I’m still enamored with the trend and I’ve chosen six possible purchases that are as much sturdy as they are intricate.
1. Fendi – Nubuck Zip Cage Stiletto, $810.
2. Jeffrey Campbell – Marley Platform, $125.
3. TopShop – Zip-up Peep Toe Shoe, $135.
4. Nine West – Dasolina, $99 $39.99.
5. Cynthia Vincent – Luella, $400.
6. Dolce Vita – Cher, $152 $119.95.
Tell me, dear readers, do you have a favorite?
Also, I finally jumped on the bandwagon and would be honored if you would follow my blog with bloglovin’.

Check Mate

Mink Plaid Shirt, Vintage Aviators and Jade Earrings, J.Crew Dress, Banana Republic Belt, Foley + Corinna Bag, Forever 21 Ring, Michael Kors Espadrilles
I didn’t get my ears pierced until I was 18, but at the time, the prospect of clip-on earrings was downright frightening. I’ve since come around, and recently found this vintage jade pair at the flea market and it’s started a whole new obsession. Plus, we’re in between seasons, so I’ve been on a bit of a jewelry binge lately and am seriously thinking I need both this and this.

Grey’s Anatomy
While browsing through the French Connection website, I was blissfully welcomed by an abundance of heather gray pieces. Though grey has never been a particularly flattering color on me, I adore its cozy connotation and incredible versatility. From the oversized swing coat to the cabled neck warmer below, these are all classic staples (that happen to be on sale).
Hunter Bag, $118 $49.99
Davie Weave Coat, $368 $299.99
Dogtooth Tassel Scarf, $38 $19.99
Metallic Maze Dress, $218 $169.99
Comme Cable Neck Warmer, $78 $29.99
Wishing on a Star Dress, $168 $89.99
Lofty Knit Dress, $218 $99.99
Cashmere Sweater, $178 $69.99
Ryo Stretch Trousers, $138 $59.99
EDIT: I was elated when I got an email this morning from the Who What Wear Daily team telling me that I had been chosen as one of their MySpace Muses for January. Check it out here!
Also, thanks to The Budget Babe for featuring me on her amazing site today. See it here.

Love is Blind
Sometimes it’s the simplest things that make me laugh the hardest. Happy Friday!

Benchwarmer
H&M Jean Jacket, Issho Striped Tank, Forever 21 Ring, BDG Jeans, Vintage Boots
This weekend, I gained a whole new appreciation for movies that feature song/dance routines that take place on wobbly bleachers (Grease and 10 Things I Hate About You come to mind). Nevertheless, when I spotted these empty grandstands, I envisioned happily bounding up and down the flights and then realized the only rendition of “Summer Nights” I’ll be singing will be in my shower.
