Trends almost always emerge on the red carpet and last night’s Emmy Awards were no exception. Glittery gowns stole the show and inspired my love for all things shiny and metallic. Here are some fun options that will be sure to add a bit of sparkle to any outfit.
Fendi’s silver and cream scarf is a glamorous option for throwing on over a dress at night. I love its gentle sheen and subtle logo pattern that can only be seen if you get up close.
J.Crew’s metallic herringbone scooter mini is the perfect skirt for Autumn with its frosted color and over sized buttons. Worn with a simple top, I’d pair it with an ornate, jeweled necklace in a bright color.
Marc by Marc Jacobs’s metal check wristlet is such an edgy departure from the designer’s typical preppy style. The hardware and tiny mirrors are kind of out there, but it would make a great clutch for a night out on the town.

It’s not often that I come across a site whose styling of outfits is as tempting as the clothes themselves. The pages of PixieMarket.com are flooded with inspirational ensembles from designers like Margo London, Milne, Minimum and Joline Jolink, all of whom are new to me, but have quickly earned my affection. Best of all, I just discovered that the actual store is only a few minutes away, so hopefully I’ll be able to track down some of the items that are sold out online.
The geometric detailing on Bo Van Melskens’s Party On Dress makes this a nice statement piece that has a remarkably slim fit for such a boxy shape.
Dunderdon Vendela’s versatile flannel jacket, with its oblong pockets, masculine shape and charcoal hue, would look amazing paired with skinny pants or a plaid skirt and over-the-knee socks.
Since I quickly tire of wearing sweaters and coats in cooler weather, the Rollins cashmere cape by Jamison is a fantastic alternative. I love the contrasting colors and the bell shape is just the right canvas for some flat riding boots.

For those of you who share my adoration for Natalie Portman, this news will find you well. Her luxury vegan shoe line, that she launched for Te Casan this Spring, is now on sale at Gilt Groupe. I can’t imagine that the incredible options will last through the afternoon, so for those of you that need an account, please just enter your information in the comment section and I’ll send you one right away!

I’m not necessarily proud to admit this, but after seeing multiple images of Lauren Conrad wearing the same style tulip skirt in different colors, I had to do some detective work. Turns out, the Gabrielle Skirt is from her line and its high-waisted, pleated shape has all the right proportions. The red is my favorite that I’d pair with some textured, gray tights and black riding boots. Though I don’t support every budding actress’s fashion line [read: Lindsay Lohan's hideous leggings], this one certainly deserves a second look.
