My loyal readers can attest that I’m a huge fan of Forever 21, especially when it comes to accessorizing. I figure that this way, I can save up for more classic staples and not feel bad about spending money on such trendy pieces. This works in theory, but I have yet to stick to a budget that allows for any extravagant purchases due to my lack of discipline. I think if I set my eye on the prize ahead of time, I’ll make smarter decisions so that when it comes time to whip out my wallet, there will be no hesitations (or credit card debt). I’ve included three shoes, all of which would play a pivotal part in my wardrobe, yet for entirely different reasons. I’ve picked a casual classic heel, a pair for work and then a great shoe for parties.

I almost always opt for the cheaper alternative when it comes to ridiculously expensive shoes, but there’s no denying the incredible construction of these Christian Louboutin somewhere pumps. Even from Barney’s website, you can clearly make out the rich, Nappa leather and its seductive curves. Plus, in a deep camel color, these would literally add some much needed inches to my legs and a dose of glamor to every outfit.
My mom would seriously cringe if she read this, but for a pair of Manolos, this leather pump is relatively reasonable for $555. Whether worn with a pencil skirt or some dark denim, these would make the process of getting dressed for work all the more enjoyable.
Carrie Bradshaw revolutionized the term ‘strappy sandal,’ but I couldn’t help but fall for these Prada scalloped peep toe pumps for my ideal evening shoe. They’re sturdy enough to go dancing, but the delicate details at both the toe and the heel make these unbelievably feminine.
What are your thoughts on breaking the bank for a pair of shoes?

Up until recently, I had never fully embraced the idea of online shopping. I felt like the experience of sauntering through stores and running my fingers over the fabrics would get lost with the click of a mouse. Then I discovered Gilt Groupe. I’ve mentioned it before, but not until the arrival of my Mint Jodi Arnold Pleated Miniskirt this morning (a lovely $88 down from $264) did I truly appreciate the beauty of indulging myself with zero effort. Gilt Groupe certainly plays into my competitive nature, seeing as how every brand only goes on sale for a mere 36 hours, making my Mint Jodi Arnold find all the more rewarding.

I’ve already decided that little bubble skirts are going to be my official uniform for Fall and I absolutely adore this one’s preppy pleats and ruching on the bottom. Of course I put it on immediately and paired it with a Forever 21 top, my favorite vintage belt, my grandfather’s gold bracelet and my Alberta Ferretti Philosophy wooden sandals.
Since Gilt Groupe is invite only, just include your email address in a comment if you’d like me to grant you access!

After what seemed like weeks of painting and touch-ups, our wall is officially done (with minimal red-splattered carpeting to match). After the Venetian blinds were taken down, it became evident just how much they took away, both aesthetically and functionally. The new drapes, which are a greenish-khaki, not only complement the color of the wall, but let in an incredible amount of natural light. Lastly, our West Elm cube cut-out dresser arrived, which means that my wardrobe is no longer confined to laundry baskets. The one question remains:

How to decorate the immense amount of space above the dresser?

The transition from Summer to Fall usually involves dusting off boxes of sweaters and replacing the contents with heaps of dresses. Not this season. Instead, I’m eager to incorporate my warm-weather pieces with the help of some textured tights, flat boots and patterned scarves. Below are some floral dresses that all have the potential to be regulars in my Fall wardrobe.
This Kimchi Blue Botanical Dress has such wonderful, vintage appeal and despite its floral pattern, the muted colors make it completely appropriate for Autumn. I’d pair it with a floppy beanie and some bright red tights.
The black and floral pairing on the Victoria Dress is perfect for a Summer music festival, but when paired with a cream-colored boyfriend cardigan and patent belt, it could easily transition to cooler temperatures.
The periwinkle color of this Ditsy Ruffle Front Dress and flutter sleeves just begs to be offset with a thick, studded belt and riding boots.
