Comfy Cardigan

The temperature in L.A. rarely dips below 65°, but nonetheless, there are chilly nights when sweaters are certainly needed. I’m a big fan of the Mr. Rogers trend, incorporating ‘old man’ cardigans into otherwise feminine outfits. Lily McNeal’s ‘Florence Raglan Cardigan‘, with over-sized buttons, front pockets, and raglan seams is a great option for throwing over a dress or pairing with jeans, but hugs a woman’s body in all the right places so you’ll never end up looking too much like Gramps.

Belt it Out

Up until recently, I don’t think I even owned a single belt. They all reminded me of this one grotesque, beaded number that my mom insisted I wear every time I had on jeans. Now, an entire drawer is dedicated entirely to these waist-cinching accessories. I own a large variety, some edgy with hardware and others so delicate you can barely make them out. Currently, one of my favorite styles is the double wrap belt, this one in particular by Twelfth St. by Cynthia Vincent. The daintiness of the width is offset by the fact that it wraps around twice and has a croc embossed patent-leather so you can be sure it won’t go unnoticed.

Not Brown Bagging It

I’m an early riser, so getting up on a weekend to hit up local farmers’ markets is never a chore. Actually, I will do anything to avoid the parking lots of Trader Joe’s and the indoor ones found in each aisle at Whole Foods. There’s also the added benefit of ‘Going Green,’ by walking around outside, supporting local growers and not using six paper bags for only $20 worth of groceries. Luckily, I found this tote from Sur La Table, which is the embodiment of farmer market chic, with double leather handles and durable straw that will hold all my hand-picked strawberries and fresh bread just perfectly.

What’s in a Name?

I’m a firm believer that a name, whether it be one for a beauty product or a retirement community, heavily contributes to its appeal. Though the color is darker than what I would normally wear, DKNY’s ‘Delicious Night Lipgloss,’ sounds so delectable, I might just have purchase it. The truth is, I’m missing a product that is a ‘sexy and seductive treat for the lips,’ and such wording is just enough to convince me that the sheer, current-colored gloss will do wonders for my mouth.
